I'd like to idea to be able to use my camera for multiple exposures, and I was wondering whether any of you has experience with ME on an SLX/6000 series camera.

I've searched the web and found a costly and hyper-bulky multiple exposure unit, and a compelling Cable Release called 'MRC-120'. However, I'm not 100% sure this would work on an SLX-2, as the website that advertises it speaks of 6006. I searched online with no luck and asked the seller but he's not sure either. I could give it a shot and try, but would love to hear from you first.

Also, would you be so kind to brief me on how it would work? Again, inconsistent info out there: a page mentioned to simply set the switch on 'ME' and press 'start', adding that for the second and following exposures the mirror would be locked-up... If this is true, how do you compose (just through the spot viewfinder?) and how do you unlock the mirror?

Thanks in advance (also for having me here)...
Giorgio

I believe it's a Model 3 from the serial # but the positioning of the "Franke & Heidecke" name under viewing lens makes me think it's a model 2?

Either way - it fires but is definitely slow and stuck a few times when testing. The lenses look a bit cloudy etc.

It's not for sale but in your opinion is it worth the money to overhaul? In good shape how would this camera compare to my mint YashicaMat G?

I have always wanted a Rollei TLR so I am leaning towards getting it refurbished and possibly installing a brighter screen (plus it's a family heirloom) If I get it done I want to do it right and assume the cost will be ~$250-$350 for pro service. Does that seem to be a good estimate and would it be worth it if there was no family connection?

Thanks,

Rich

I bought a scratch and dent Rollei off FleaBay for 100.00 bucks. Yes, it was an "estate sale" item listed by someone who doesn't know cameras. What I got was a Rolleiflex Automat Model 3 with the Carl Zeiss Jena 3.5 75mm taking lens. Rolling the dice sometimes pays off. The item I got was really a nice working camera obviously used by a professional photographer. I am a retired professional photographer, so I know the tell tale signs of someone who knows what they are doing with a camera. The lenses were perfect. the shutter was a bit gummy at 1/500th (who uses that shutter speed anyway?), The focus screen was dirty and it had been modified with an X sync ASA connector below the taking lens. It needs a CLA, which I will do myself, having just resurrected a Graflex Pacemaker Speed Graphic 4x5 from the grave, including making a new focal plane shutter for it and rebuilding the Graphlex Optar lens with Wollensak shutter. After that ordeal, I think I can handle the Rollei. Glad to be here.

My father passed away a few years ago and left me his beloved camera collection, including this Rollei. We had many great experiences with it and my intent is to keep it. However, recently some serious home repairs came up and I might need to sell. Can anyone help me accurately identify this model and any specs that can help me discover its worth? Thank you very much!!!

Lenses are clean, body looks like new. Meter is not worse than my other 2.8F.
The aperture and time wheels run so much smoother than on that camera.
It has quite a low serial# (2404191), so I guess it is from 1960-61.

BUT it is not perfect.
Some fool has screwed a circular plate in the tripod-connector that will not come off by hand.
And also cut a hole in the bottom of the ever ready case.
Because of the plate the camera can not stand on its little feet. In the photo I used the lenscap to balance the camera.
I will send it to Will van Maanen, the dutch Rollei specialist to take it of the camera.

Only now do I feel that I may post in the My Rollei collection-thread ;-)
Later I will sell my other 2.8F, that I bought less than a year ago, but until then I am the proud owner of a Rollei collection!

I have some other various items like light meters and a vintage ISING tripod that the early Rolleicord and Heidoscop will fit and the owners manual and accessory catalog ( in German) for the Rolleiflex.
But that's gist of it. I will share some of the Heidoscop mini restoration as it goes along. I'm not going to repaint it, I like that old worn look, but I will re glue the leather, and on the hunt for the waist finder bits.

To the best of my knowledge, TTL is possible on Rolleis using the Metz SCA 356 or, better, 3562 adapters.

However, Metz seems to have discontinued the 54 MZ series of flashes. The only remaining modern SCA flash is the 76 MZ-5. I do not want to carry my bulky 76 when I travel, and all other new Metz flashes are for mainstream cameras (Canon / Nikon).

1- Does anyone know a store that would still have stock of new 54 flashes?
2- Any idea for a replacement? Is DHW working with Metz on a replacement for the 54?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

A.

My stepfather left the following items after his passing. I have done some searching, but really unsure of what these items could bring from an online sell (in USD). Any help is truly, truly appreciated. I'm sure my terminology will not be correct below.

I have:
Rolleiflex 2.8e camera (looks to be in good condition -- he always cared for his things very well)
Rolleiflex handle attachment with two 'trigger' cords
Original manual; original purchase receipt from 1959
Heidosmat Rolleinar 1 lens (or like a lens)
Heidosmat Rolleinar 2 lens (or like a lens)
5 filters and some sort of cover in original case -- U-V, -2...3,5 (rollei-hellrot), -1 (rollei-gelb-hell), -1 (rollei-hellgrun), -1.5 (rollei-gelb-mittel)

Any idea on what I should price these items? Many thanks, again.

The answer is: Päpke Fototechnik in Düsseldorf

http://www.paepke-fototechnik.de/index.html

Apparently there is no authorized repair service in the USA.

I am pleased to have found someone to repair my dear camera, but not so much to ship it to Germany (from Texas), with an estimated repair from 250 euros to 400 euros, plus shipping both ways!!

A camera that I have not used that much (I am not a professional and mainly use my 6008 during vacations) really should last longer than 5 years before it gets a problem so expensive to fix...

I usually use my 6008AF with a Metz 54MZ-4 with SCA 3562 adapter (same configuration as the pictures in the Rollei ads...).
However, I tried yesterday to use my old Agfatronic 643CS with adapter SCA 356 (which I used on my SL2000F but have not tried in some time). The flash did NOT fire, not did it look like anything was communicated between camera and flash.
The flash itself is working fine, I tried it with an old digital camera and its dedicated SCA adapter (it was an Agfa Actioncam with adapter 333/2) and it worked fine. The 6008AF also works fine, and same goes for the Metz flash with 3562.

My questions are therefore the following ones:

- Is the SCA 356 supposed to work on the 6000 series, or should I use exclusively the 3562 adapter (and therefore leave my powerful Agfatronic to my SL2000F and get something else instead) ?

- If the SCA 356 is supposed to work on the 6000 series, has anyone seen defective SCA adapters (that seems to be the only issue, as both flash and camera work fine) ? I guess that happens, but these adapters are so simple that I wonder what can put them out of order.

- If, one again, the answer to the previous question is "yes", does anyone know where to have the adapter repaired, or if it is cheaper to just get a new one?

I would like to try and avoid more tests (I already shot a few pictures with no flash in a dark environment), so I prefer (for the moment) not to test the 356 adapter on the SL2000F (that would mean, in case of missed flash, testing the SL2000F with again another flash to make sure the defect is in the adapter and not in the camera).

Thanks in advance for your help!
