newbie questions here - exposure and how to unload?

Newbie alert!

I just got this Rolleicord IIb that used to belong to my grandfather and I am trying to make it work.

I loaded some iso 400 color film and shot some photos outside to see how they fair, before I invest in pro cleaning.

Here are my 2 questions:

I used my Pentax Digital in manual mode to calculate exposure. Bad idea? I guess I'll find out once developed. I kept notes on my settings to see what happens.

NOW - How do I unload the film? Do I just open and send the second spool for development? Do they return the spool? Can I send it via Walgreens ?(I read somewhere that they do it off premises)
