Have a look at my web site's gallery :
www.bataviaphotos.com , all scans from transparencies. Many on a Flextight Precision 1 , and many on a Minolta Dimage Pro 2 . To me film will always be sort of better. Sort of ? Well it is that magic range in shadows AND highlights in ONE shot that 'till today NO digital camera could equal.
Having said that , thanks to digital and the removed cost per image barrier I see a serious increase in artistic quality. So we can ask how important keeping film alive really is . I think eventually it will be the pleasure of shooting very thoughtful on film. As it will become more and more expensive.
To me with possibly more hours in professional darkrooms and behind stinking chemical developing baths and machines as most of us I dare say ... : Goodness Gracious Film is no longer Needed. But what a beautiful medium it is !
