Just finished reading ‘The Classic Rollei’ by John Phillips.
In my opinion it is a very well documented book, written in a pleasant style. Containing an enormous amount of detailed information on all the classic Rolleiflexes and -cords and all the accessories. I enjoyed reading it a lot.
But it did not totally satisfy all my cursiosity on some of the aspects of the subject.
For example: I was hoping to find out more about the history of the F & H company. And I would have loved reading more about the cooperation and interaction between Herr Franke and Herr Heidecke during those important first years of the company.
In my opinion there is very little on how the company was influenced by the Nazi-regime and later by the war.
It might be my personal interest in/fascination with history in general. And it might be that these aspects of the F & H history are beyond the scope of a book of this kind.
But like I said, the book did leave me with a lot of questions.
Does any member have a tip on further reading on these aspects of the F&H history?
