You might notice some big changes happened with the GX. That is because sometime before the GX was designed, someone at Rollei had decided they no longer needed the dies for the TLR and they were sent to the scrap yard (can't remember the year). When they realized what had happened, a team was sent to recover them and they did find the major components, but the forms for many small parts were lost. Missing parts were substituted from other Rollei products, but the F 2.8 would never again be made. The GX is a fine camera, but it just does not have the same mechanical precision and sophistication.
