New to Forum, need a definition...

Hello,
I'm brand new to this Forum, although I've used Rollei's for about 50 years. I just now came across the expression "white face." Looking at photos, it appears this MAY mean that the ring around the taking lens is painted white, instead of being satin chrome with black striping. Is this correct, or does it mean something else? And is the price premium because these versions were later, or fewer were made, or some other reason???

It is still satin chrome (not white), but less black paint/ink.

Some people may prefer it because it is "newer" (last model) some because it is "rare".

From a user's point of view general condition should be more relevant than the camera's age (any good non-white-face from 1967 should beat a beat up white-face from 1970, and the three years are neglectible).

From a collector's point of view you will need all versions of a camera and the wihte face is less common, so it is harder to find ...

Hi again Jan,
I'll take the bait on your serial number teaser one day...
But for now, I'm confused by what I think are the Old and New Rolleiclub websites. I found the following on what I believe was the Old site:

I found this list very helpful, but I did notice some discrepancies. Can you tell me if there's a plan to migrate Old content such as this chart to the New pages? And would anyone care about discrepancies in said chart?
