Odd specs on my MX-EV 3.5 Tessar

I have a Rolleiflex Automat MX-EV Type I (serial number, lens, controls etc all fit), but the strap connections are the later scissor type. I am thinking somebody replaced the side plates. Could that be? Has anyone ever seen this?

I would think the screw holes in the sides are in the same place. I have put the old style scissor strap holder on a new FX so I could have the removable door. Under the leather I found the holes in exactly the same place. I bought the strap hangers off ebay and have seen others for sale there on occasion.

You are right! The screws are in the exact same place. It would be easy to replace the older strap bracket with a later scissor bracket. It is tough to find the older straps in usable condition, but easy to get a scissor style.
