TLR Sheet film holders

I am thinking of buying a sheet film accessory and film holders for my 2.8F. Does anyone know if the holders are able to accept glass plates as well as sheet film? Many thanks in advance.

Yes they are designed to hold glass plates. They are actually called Plate backs, not sheet film backs. To use them with sheet film you must put in a spacer where the glass should go.

The Plate back is a very old accessory for the Rolleiflex. Early on the roll film had a lot more problem with film flatness and some photographers would rather stick with glass plates. So Rolleiflex made a back designed to hold glass plates. Then photographers stopped using glass plates and all were using sheet film. So they made a little spacer the size of a glass plate that you put in the holder and you can load a sheet of film on top of that. Most of the holders you see for sale in ebay have the spacer in place. I have bought a dozen and all had the spacer except one. The spacer is put in and left in. So to use the holder as a glass plate holder you will need to take the spacer out. This is a simple matter of opening the holder and sliding the spacer out.

Sorry to tag along this post but i didn't see the use of restarting another post with a similar topic.
I have a question to those of you who have used the Rollei Adapter Plate Backs:
What is the maximum glass thickness that can be accommodated in the Plate backs....??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

measuring it by eye with a ruler it looks to be 2mm.
