I don't think is a problem of the backs, but looks more a problem of the body itself that is not sensing the overcurrent required by the motor when the film is on the last frame and normally should light up the W red light. You can check the W red light following this step:
- The film transport has been carried out (short flickering during the transportation process from the first frame onwards)
- The end of a film is reached (when shutter relesase is pressed, light is constant)
- Magazine control switch is not correctly set at either "ME" or "SE" (light is constant, no shutter release is possible)
Another possibility is the use of too strong battery the original pack is using 700mA NiCd batteries the new NiNh are too strong you should try to find batteries with no more than 1000 mA with corrent higher than this the gears can slip and not sensing the film end
