Rolleiflex 3003 / SL2000F

For those who are still interested in the 3003/SL2000F, I have been using these for many years and some comments about them are as follows:

The used lenses are getting cheap and very good value for money now. Just that there may not be many available and also to get a reliable body to go with them is not easy.

Interesting "letherette" on you SL 2000 F!

Texture / surface like that of the 3003 traveller, but without the small cutout for the handgrip ... probably one of a kind !

And: nice texts too, I like the fogg-diva "in action"

The 'one of a kind' SL2000F is actually just a normal SL2000F. I believe the previous owner sent it to the Rollei agent to get the letherette changed to the 3003 traveller type. He even changed the front logo to 'Rolleiflex 3003'. When I sent the body back to Rollei Germany for repair after a drop from a tripod with a 200/4 (a major repair) Rollei Germany changed the 'Rolleiflex 3003' back to 'Rolleiflex'.

Oh yes Fogg makes nice bag. Very soft and comfortable. Hand made by the British husband and wife now staying in France. The only complaint is the price too high!

Hello it's great to see this site up and running, I wonder if anyone could share some advice on the subject of 3003s.

We have a 3003 in need of attention. The film wont wind on and 2 of our 3 lenses now need cleaning on inside of optical components.

The good news is the 35-105mm macro is crystal clear =)

I loved this camera when it worked but now think it's time to find an collector or repairer to sell it on to.

Does anyone have any contacts or advice?

If the motor is burnt out, then that is very bad news indeed and probably "game over". Having it replaced by accredited Rollei service is going to cost alot of money.

If, however, the motor is still hale and the problem lies elsewhere, then things might not be as bad; about four years ago one of my 2000F's went wonky and the repair in Düsseldorf in Germany cost about EUR 250. This included cleaning, lubricating and adjustment. I have since used it a fair amount and everything works perfectly. Look at Rollei.com to find addresses.

The rarity of the 2000F/3003/3001's does mean that finding a good repair man can be difficult: if you value the experience of taking pictures with such an extraordinary camera, then you cannot escape having to put your hand quite deeply into your pocket from time to time.

You should be able to get your lenses sorted out by any competent repairman: ask other photographers that you know in your town to recommend someone.

And in the meantime, get an SL 35 E out of the Bay, a few more lenses, an M42 adapter......
