I recently purchased a 6008i package (body, lens, grip, etc) and everything appeared to be in excellent conditon. For some reason I can not get the camera to funtion properly when the lens in installed. It is a Planar PQ style so it should function properly with this body.

Thie initial problem was that the battery "charge" indicator would always come on so I expected a bad battery. I purchased a new set of cells and rebuilt the pack but still had the same problem. The voatage on the new pack is 10.2.

I went through the normal process of elimnation and found that when the lens was not installed on the camera the mirror mechanism worked fine and the battery charge indicator was also correct. To me that was evidence that the battery and camera body was functional.

I did notice that the iris mechanism on the lense is erradict and for some reason the lens will remain wide when it is installed. Finally, if the lens is in not fuly locked the camera seems to function properly.

Any clues on this?

Tried with an other lens ?
Most likely the linear motor that drives the aperture needs a clean-up at its most optimistic. If you're adventurous just sit down , study how the lens is assembled and with common sense you may be able to open , clean and assemble. Lenses are pretty straightforward constructions. But is that to scary , which is understandable contact the German repairer : paepke-fototechnik.de/ they usually respond in time with advice.
