Filter R1 ? What is it?

Postby Marco » Thu Apr 03, 2008 8:59 am

I'm looking for a complete list of filter and try to understand in which way I should use this type of filter named for example R1 R2 R11 or B1, B2 B11 , they are for color compensation?
My problem is that in my manual not all are listed and for example is not listed R1 (is not the bay I,II,III.IV) like this http://cgi.ebay.it/Rollei-R1-Filter-Gro ... dZViewItem , what is it for?
Someone has a list or a link to a complete list ?

Bests

Hello Marco!!

They are colour conversion filters. Their details are as below:

R1, R2, R5, R11 (bay I,II,III.IV)
R1.5 (bayI,II,III, no bayIV)
B1, B2, B5, B11 (bay I,II,III.IV)

They are described at "ROLLEI Report2" page 24-516 -- 24-517

And I will send the list (almost complete) for your using them by PM

Best Regards

I have a bay 3 R5 and it is a nice light red that takes about a half stop compensation. I just bought today on ebay coincidentally an R1.5 an I think it is going to be a very light red. We will see in a few days.

Thank you for the answers, I have replay to your pm Akira. Unfortunatly up to now I miss the Rollei Report 2, my Prochnow book collection is 3,4,5 and Rollei 35. The Report 2 and the Technical Report are in my wishlist at this moment.
Best wishes
Marco

Hello Marco,

R + B filters are for using with color films.
R filters (1, 1,5, 2, 5, 11) are against blue sting.

B filters (1, 2, 5, 11) are against red sting.
