|
|
Dear all,
I am at present trying to use my Rollei with a pair of 250watt strobes. It's my understanding that Rolleis sync at all speeds but the tests so far conclude that although the flashes fire at all speeds, I'm yet to get anything on the negative! Can someone please advise what i could be doing wrong. Could I have the wrong cable?
Thanks in advance.

| Are you using F or X sync? That cute little lever that works the self-timer as well ... |

Hi David,
you could "pull out" the knob on the lever and shift it towards the camera's center ... setting the camera to FP-Sync - with the lightbulb symbol (it is set to X-sync in your pic - with the flash/arrow-symbol hiden by the lever).
So this is unfortunately not your trouble ... hmmmh, since the flashes do fire ... does the self timer work too? Maybe the link between the lever and the shutter is not engaged ...
I assume the shutter does open at all ... does it?
Fopr studio flashes I'd recommand a shutter speed slower than 1/500th, maybe 1/125 - but this is not today's trouble ... |

Thanks again for helping me get to the bottom of this!
Right, I pulled out the shutter timer knob and placed it on the bulb setting.
The flashes do fire and the shutter does open. I'm going to try another test roll tonight with a range of shutter speeds and see what happened. I actually shot at 125th for the last (failed) roll.
Will let you know.
Thanks again for helping out! |

| When firing the camera without film, with back the open ... you may save some rolls of film ... |
