Hi All --
I was ABSOLUTELY LUCKY in that I inherited a Rolleiflex Tele Type 1, with Rollinar and leather box with lens hood Paralax corrector and 6 filters, A Rolleiflex MX Type 2 with eveready case and a German Rollei 35!! And now I am HOPELESSLY addicted to just holding them!!
I was into photography while stationed in Germany in the US Army in 1974-1975, I had a Fuji ST801 and really got pretty good with it. But when I got back home to the States I gave it up for other pursuits.
Since then I have not been into cameras.
When I was given the Rolleis I wasn't sure what I would do with them??!! I thought I would sell them or give them to another family member. But after researching Rollei History, learning how to load film in the TLRs, marveling at the focus screens and lenses and basically learning all I can about them I am in love with them and can't imagine my life without a Rollei TLR!!! Am I going nuts or what??!! I guess this is how it starts.
Anyway, again my MODEST Rollei collection is the Tele Type 1, MX Type 2 and the Rollei 35. I also have 3 Rollei Battery Flash Units, 2 Rollei pistol grips, A Rollei Strobofix, (missing the charger, unfortunately), Rollinar .035 and filters for the Tele (Bay3), Penta Prism for the Tele, original 2.8D Owners Manual, Rollei Photography by Jacob Deschin, 2 copies of The Rollei Manual by Alec Pearlman and Collector's Guide to Rollei Cameras by Arthur Evans.
I also have a Brand New leather Rollei case for the SL66 (I believe) that I don't know what to do with because I don't think I'll ever have a Rollei SL66.
I have now been to 2 camera shows and have bought the film rail piece for the Rolleikin adaptor. I have a feeling I will be searchng out Rollei TLR items now wherever I go!!!
Thanks Jaap for your efforts to get the Web Site back. I look forward to learning as much as I can about these awesome machines!!

Nice start to a Rollei collection. I agree with you about the TLR. It is a great camera, with a great viewfinder, lenses and easy focusing. Also very inituitive and easy to use. To expand your collection, you might want to look into some of the pre-war TLR's. The Old Standards can be had for $100 or less unless you are looking for a pristine example. Lenses are Zeiss Tessar, uncoated but still great lenses. Most common problem would be sticky shutters at slow speeds so check that first. They are certainly fixable with CLA, but best to get one that already works well. Use them occasionally and they will usually just keep working! The Original models are neat too (I have a couple), but they take 620 film which is more expensive than the commonly available 120 film the the Old Standard takes. Just my thoughts.

It seems i'm more of an accumulator rather than a collector of cameras!
I've got some of everything! _________________ Dave |
