Batavia in a Sou'westerly afternoon storm near Sydney.221 viewsOn the 8th of October 2000 the Batavia was surprised by a fierce South Wester storm that 'jumped on board' . The crew was truly surprised by this not uncommon Sydney weather event, but they were not from Sydney...... The sails had to be drop in great hurry and a standby tug had great trouble to bring her back under control.
